does anyone no what the wheat is coated in which oils do they use and why dont they go rancid, i think years ago it was a oatmeal or groat base but i could be wrong

 

and what mineral or vits they use , i make a similar thing with provit and yeast but its not the same , any one have any idea?

very good hormoform is it also smells and looks the part aswell !!!!!

Don't some people use layers pellets as these are also packed with nutrients and minerals for £6.20 per 20K??

we use it all the time and I am sure it is Selenium that gives it the red colour [could be wrong ,was wrong once before about 30 years ago  ;D ;D ;D ;D ]

This is a copy of a composite post from 2006. Sorry it is a bit long, but its the details that you wanted to know.  :)

 

Harkers Hormoform

 

The calculated typical analysis of Hormoform is as follows:

 

protein 9%,

oil  9%,

fibre 1.8%

ash 13%

vitA 18000 ius/kg

vitD3 5000 ius/kg

vitE 75 ius/kg

 

The nutrients contained in Hormoform include:

 

Vitamins A, D3, K, D1 (Thiamine), B2 (Riboflavine), B6(Pyridoxine), B12, E (alpha tocopherol)

 

Plus

 

Chloride, Iodine, Cobalt, Copper, Manganese, Iron

 

Magnesium, Nicotinic Acid, (B3) Calcium Pantothenate (B5)

 

Biotin, IMPORTANCE: Aids in the utilization of protein, folic acid, Pantothenic acid, and Vitamin B-12, DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS: May lead to extreme exhaustion, drowsiness, muscle pain, loss of appetite, depression, greyish skin colour.

 

 

Inositol, IMPORTANCE: Necessary for the formation of lecithin; aids in the breakdown of fats; helps reduce blood cholesterol

DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS: May result in high blood cholesterol.

tell me about it,I got 3 from tammy 4 months ago and despite twice weekly baths it has only just come out with the moult!! ;D ;D

if any of you feed hormoform with feeding mix, do your birds end up covered in it, i add about a small galleypot a day to ther feed, most of them are covered in ugly reddy/orange stains now

What's wrong with a stain or two,will keep them waterproof :)

dnt worry about the stain think ov the gdness it puts in2 them a few baths wi condies crystals will soon remove the stain  ;)

I wouldn't be without Hormoform when breeding, the birds love it and the babies are nice and fat and healthy.  It does turn the birds which a white head a nice shade of pink though  ;D ;D

with having mainly white doos they got covered in other year  so they ended up white & pink  ;D  for a good while

 

try a touch ov vanish in the bathwater then  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I seem to recollect some time ago that a member posted up that they produced there own Hormoform substitute product.

 

Cannot remember who the member was or what they used ingredient wise or quantity.

 

Does anyone have any idea?
