there was a thread on a think last week abt oldest doo in your loft,that one will take some beating at 51yr old.lol. i have a ring i dug up in my garden many years ago, nps42ns19233. obviously a pigeon service doo, i dont suppose anyone could tell me anymore abt it,or can they.???

NPS >> National Pigeon Service.

 

Can't remember much about NPS but I believe you had to register to be able to get feed for your pigeons and presumably be use by the forces during WW2.

I can remember my late father had a round enamel badge blue in colour with a pigeon on it about the size of your thumb nail and a crown on the top(now somewhere in my house).
