Guest XANADU LOFTS
I asked my daughter to call into the corn stores the other day to pick up a couple of bags of corn as she was going right by their door, I also asked her to pick up a couple of pound of Linseed, when she got back home she told me she could not remember what I had asked for, she remembered the corn but came back with two bags of Hemp seed, I was about to chuck it when I seemed to remember seeing an article ages ago about feeding it to the birds, is that right? if so what quantity and what benefits from feeding it if any? thanx in advance Chris. John Not sure that this is what is meant by 'seed heating birds up', IMO its more to do with bringing birds on or into a certain condition?? On the other hand, that is exactly what all foods do to all animals, they cause heat in the body, all bodies. That's what the calory thing is all about, calory is a measurement of heat, or the energy required to produce it.

If its Proof you want that hemp heats the doos up, feed some to them for a day or two and feel how hot their feet are.

JohnQuinn
why would you want to heat your doo's up,and what are the benefits ??? When basketing for a race and you are looking for a pooler, take the one with the warmest feet and you'll no be far wrong, i don't entirely understand the physiological mechanisms that cause this but when a doos feet are hot the bird is in very good condition. I think along human lines, if your feet are cold your liable to be fed up, if you are nice and warm, your ready for anything. jmo
