sapper756
Just found a stock bird on the aviary floor, both feet with claws clenched and uable to stand, otherwise, looks healthy. Anybody got any ideas what may be wrong? or how to treat? Thanks.
Guest
Is it a Hen ??? of so I stronly suspect your bird is suffering from a lack of calcium, as a quick first aid measure you could syring her with a little milk, then break a milk of magnesia tablet or similar into 4 and give her a quarter twice a day for two days. peterpau
Cock or hen Hyacinth's advice sounds about right extra oystershell grit all round may help too. Hyacinth sounds spot on but the big thing is it is a defficiency. A choice of 2 or 3 types of grit / pickstone + minerals will do the trick.
