just thinking of trying it myself next year.i was told that it can disorientate the birds but its a system i am yet to investigate,so i know virtually nothing about the system.my youngsters are in various stages of the molt at the moment so theres no point this year is there.

Paul if you want to be competitive with your YB then to compete they need to be on darkness. The first year 2006 I flew down here YB non darkness, first 2 races I was 123 & 1,2 then they started moulting and I was 5/10 mins behind the winner from then on. Mind we didn't start racing until last saturday in July in 2006. I'm not keen on darkness myself and the last 2 years I have concentrated on just trying to train them with a few races for experience under their belt. This year because of geography and our east west route our first YB race isn't until 22nd August!!
