A 20 second video does not help, it's time all members at Club,Federations and at National AGM's to insist that a video of the transporters arrival at race point the water and feeding should be videoed as this will be time stamped.the release of the birds should not be 20 secs, more like release the sky, surrounding area and till all the birds a clear (1 min/30 min) however long this takes. in this day and age and every person having a phone with video capability this would be at no cost to Club/Fed, National and cost pennies to post on the internet.

The nothing to hide argument states that individuals have no reason to fear or oppose surveillance programs, unless they are afraid it will uncover their own illicit activities. An individual using this argument may claim that an average person should not worry about government surveillance, as they would have "nothing to hide"

Amen it would also help stop rumours. Like you say if they have nothing to hide why not video the libs and show the fanceirs at the end of the day its our birds thats on the transporters.

IMO the main cause is releasing birds in full grey cloud cover ,they have a very difficult time trying to find there bearings ,as i say only my opinion ,they need a blink of sun to start them of on their journey .The idea of recorded release + feeding and watering would be a welcome thing as well it would give fancier confidence that things were being done properly for the well fare of the birds especially in these humid close hot conditions.

I believe that weather conditions were mainly responsible for this disaster. I further believe that specialised weather forecasts are available from the Met Office. It really is time to obtain the best weather advice available to help Race Controllers make well informed decisions.

We all saw the advance forecast and we all knew that there was a possibility of a dodgy race but sent our best regardless.

Agree-I race in the south of England-Hampshire, about 90 miles or so due west of Maidstone. We had full cloud cover all day down here which doesnt help. Our birds (Solent SR fed) were racing from Wetherby (200 miles plus) liberated in sunshine but returns well below 50% and velocities of 1,000ypm or less.

Many Feds down here racing from West to East (racepoints in Devon/ Cornwall) had equally bad days with very slow races and shocking returns.

My 3rd bird home landed on the loft roof and then sat there for 25 minutes in what looked like a trance, never seen anything like it. My later pigeons on Saturday which had "been on the wing" for 12 hours, felt like they hadn't been out the loft-certainly hadn't been flying very much.

Spoke to a fancier in Farnborough tonight who had 6 racers land on his house roof on Sunday, knackered and just sat there-managed to get 1 in for a feed today-it was Scottish rung.

Im a new starter so cannot explain what happened but I have seen and heard enough to know this was nothing to do with the SNFC, the transporter or the liberation-something weird in the atmosphere for sure.

We did have thunderstorms in the south on Thursday night-perhaps that left "something" in the atmosphere? I never saw the grand prix this weekend but apparently the team radios had problems which they said was due to atmospherics?
