This Year Racing, Old Birds,

THE FIFER

Started the season with 18 birds either yearlings or inexperienced 2 year olds, of those 18 I have 10 left, my aim was to test them and race them out. Our federation only went as far as melton Mowbray so I'm happy to have had that into most of them, got 2/3 from Maidstone national.

I've only a handful of birds but atleast everyone has earned there perch, gives me confidence that I can now go and prepare them for selected races next season knowing they can do the course and distance to use a horse racing term.

My philosophy is if fit and healthy they go, I breed from all my racers as I've no stock pigeons so the no users must be weeded out before I start taking more no users from them.

Again our federation had a couple of real sore ones with big losses so think the race programme/route will be up in the air again
