WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO HAVE THE GOOD OLD DAYS BACK, I LOVED THE SPORT AND THE FANCIERS THEN, WHO IN THOSE DAYS WERE MOSTLY GUYS WHO WORKED 5.1/2 DAYS A WEEK, HAD NO CARS, NO MOBIL PHONES TO PREDICT THE WEATHER, SENT THEM ON A FRIDAY, AND WAITED TO HEAR WHEN THEY WERE LIBERATED, WITH HARDLY A MOAN, MANAGED TO MAKE THEIR WAY TO AS FAR AS QUEEN ST.TRAIN STATION IN GLASGOW, FOR SNFC RACE MARKING, OR HAMILTON TOWN HALL, MOSLY IN THE SERVICE BUSES, THE GUYS FROM THE SOUTH SECTION SENT THEIR DOOS {EARLY MORNING} OFF TO HAMILTON IN A FUNITURE VAN AND THEY WERE PLACED IN DIFFERENT QUEUES AND RACE MARKED. WILLIE RAE FROM BIGGER, USED TO WALK UP AND DOWN THE BASKET LINE LIKE A SEARGENT MAJOR, AND YOU DORNY PUT A FIT WRANG,OR HE WAS ON TO YOU, ONCE THEIR DOOS WERE MARKED IT WAS DOON THE STAIRS TO THE BAR FOR REFRESMENTS, WHICH SLOWWLY DEVELOPED INTO A 4 HR, SING SONG. THEN ON TO FRIDAY TO LISTEN TO 1 O'CLOCK BBC NEWS, TO SEE IF THE RENNES DOOS WWERE LIBERATED.
THE GOOD OLD DAYS, SADLY GONE I THINK NEVER TO RETURN.

I lived through these days although I did not have racing pigeons at that time it is customary to look back through rose tinted glasses into a misty cloud of nostalgia.I have see it and done it and it’s better now.
