Just watching some Keith Mott on YouTube

What ever became of the Gunn & Cherrie partnership ?

I think the loft was on land at Roslin Research Institute, where Tam Cherrie worked. Not sure if he changed jobs and had no place to move the lofts to ?? Tam left the sport. Dave Gunn continued on his own, at a different location for a few more years before he too packed up. They had some excellent performances in the late 80's, early 90's from channel races - Mountmarle Prince & Red Ruby did some winning.

If am right, mountmarle Prince Ivor won Nat in 89,

They sent him back the next year and a think he

took another position, then am not sure what happened

but Tam had to put him down, said it was one of the

hardest decisions he made. Another pigeon for them

that had a fantastic performance was a check cock

Houdini, think he was 5th or 6th National, Davy retained

him from their sale, if am right a rat got into the loft

at the new location and Houdini was the only bird

that it got and a think their was about 30 birds in that end.

One of their main breeders was a cock they named the

Combine cock, check that came from Wales from Alan Maull

a Janssen of the highest quality, Alan Maull was one of the first to get the Jansens

In the uk, a had a son from him that bred loads of winners, a gave Davy back

a cock from from the combine cock that had a number

of 1st for him racing.

Myself and Jim, peggie who flies in my club as J&G Peggie visited them many years ago over in Roslan at the research centre, what a place they had there, the nest boxes were deep for the widowhood cocks away at the back, there wasn't a noise coming from them. He did say, not many folk get in here, but lucky enough, me and Jim did make entrance, were in great order at the time.

Who was police man out the 2, was it Davey Gunn if am right.
