  1. Where are all the young birds going?

Have heard some real horror stories today.

1 member from my club tossed 60 y/bs from 20 miles at 4.00pm and has only 10 back at dark.

Another member (new starter) tossed 16 last night from 10 miles and didn't see any till this morning and ended up 6 adrift with another member having 16 younger ones missing from off the loft and there are similar reports from other clubs in our fed.

It can't all be hawks :-/

  2. Well done Bob Whyte, hope he wins the section it would be great in his last season.

Some fantastic pigeons have been timed by Bob and his late partner George Ritchie, 2 of the best distance fanciers Scotland has produced.

  3. I timed this morning at 6.42.Doos as fresh as paint ;)

    Well done Del,

No joy up here been low cloud and drizzle since yesterday afternoon, don't think there will be many in this neck of the woods, but I suppose that's just national racing, High one week then low the next week. The neighbours must think i've been nailed to the loft door, been there since last night, cigarette ends now up to my knees ;D ;D

  4. It's only the 3rd time any national has been won in the North section.

The first time was Walter Masson of Inverallochy nr Fraserburgh in 1976 with "5 O'Clock Rock". the 2nd time was Jim Donaldson with "Donnann" from Sartilly in 1995, but this one tops them all, the Gold Cup. If it happened to me I would need tranquilizers to keep me calm

  5. I have just heard that it has been confirmed that Gordon Willox of Peterhead has won the Gold cup, what a result, 632 miles. A truly fantastic performance by a fantastic pigeon.

I am absolutely delighted for him, he's been racing doos for 50 years, what a way to mark that milestone :)

  6. Fantastic performance by Gordon Willox, Peterhead. I think he may have won the national. Been to see him, he is shellshocked. As for the doo, she looks like she hasn't been out of the loft. He has 3 out of 5 home, nae bad for 630 miles :)

  7. Timed at 13.55 and 14.12. 2 out of 3 632miles.

    can't stop shaking ;D ;D ;D

Well done to Gordon Willox, he timed a 2nd bird at 13.47.

    Jim Donaldson 12.56

    M. Binnie, Banff 14.03, not sure if this is his sporting challenge bird.

  8. Had a bird return Sunday evening, had been missing since snfc Newbury the week before, he had a note with a phone No.  Rang the guy and told me the bird arrived at his loft in Amble on the evening of the race, he fed and watered the bird but he wouldnt leave so keep him isolated for the week then tossed him from Eyemouth on Sunday afternoon. It's always good to know where they've been. When I was a fisherman we got many GB rung strays on the boat and I always put a note on their legs and had many phonecalls of thanks and also amazement when they knew their birds had in some cases landed on the boat around 100 miles East of Shetland ??)

Many thanks to Mr Spears of Amble for looking after my bird ;) ;)

  9. We are using UNIKON professional (version 2.85)

    do we upgrade to 2.86?

Got letter last week from UNIKON about upgrade but this was for UNIKON CHAMP, it didn't mention anything about upgrade for Unikon professional, but see there is upgrade available for professional to v2.86 on www.pigeon-ets.com. Do we take it or not?

  10. DOVEScot which Reid's are your relatives, my grandparents were Reids

Chickadee which Ina is your cousin my mum is an Ina.

I measured Ian McKay up long before Blackpool, but this job is not all bad, our young birds always get single tossed from the crem in Aberdeen, get's them right before the young bird national!!!
