Ok mate glad u got it
The bird was with a non fancier so I felt I should bring him home soonest. As they say in the doggie world a doo is not just for Christmas.
-
Iam working there this Saturday night anyone need birds sorted let me no
Great offer thanks. Mine is home now no problem.
I was really surprised when I arrived there, I knew the old town very well but the bird was on a new built estate just off the dual carriageway. All very prosperous.

Hi, I have a stray reported by a non fancier in Stonehaven. I wonder if there are any local fanciers there who could pick the bird up till I arrange a courier.
I will contact Walkers tomorrow but I think that’s just too late to have him uplifted this week.
For interest the pigeon was lost racing from Maidstone.

Well done Davie you obviously have not been wasting your time.

Only meals in the sky today thats the truth
Sadly you are not far from the truth. This has been a strange season for us and we don’t normally have Federation races over longer distances at this time of year when every pair of peregrines in the country has a pair of youngsters following them and they are killing everything which moves for fun.
-
ours have to come across into the wind too at stoneyburn
Ha ha Derek I’ll tell the jokes if you don’t mind.
-
Returns good from Newark
Of course they will be the over there don’t need to turn into the wind which is at least twice the met office forecast.

Absolutely abysmal in Ayrshire. Maybe you Lanarkshire guys should be trying to hold onto the committee you have as they clearly made a good call.
-
I saw this discussed elsewhere and the opinion was that it was the Australian Variant of Rotavirus.

I have just spoken to the RPRA as Angus & Dundee are due to go to Ripon on Saturday. There is a limit to the number of transporters allowed on the site. It has been confirmed to me that we are ok as are Lanarkshire and East of Scotland and 3 English organisations. I hope this clears up any confusion.
Thanks for that yes it clears the confusion.

Robert, when Glasgow booked Catterick we were refused because Almond Valley had already booked. Luckily I managed to "sweet talk" since they have multiple car parks. They are very wary since racehorses are their main business and pigeon liberations are a secondary source of income. You are correct, in that I don't know the position with Ripon.
That’s interesting Andy. I was just being curious. Last time I looked it was impossible to find the location of federations from the RPRA website. Trying times.

Lanarkshire will get into Ripon on Sunday and today's race from Kelso had 💯 % returns ( must have been the Black Pudding Super I bought him last night)ðŸ‘😉✅
The initial post from Walter said Saturday. I assume Lanarkshire have now changed to Sunday. Thank you.
Robert, a lot of the sites are only allowing 1 vehicle to attend.
Thanks Andy a wee bit of assumption involved in your post I feel.
-
Assuming there is only one liberation site at Ripon Ayrshire Federation announced last night that, as Ripon is unavailable this Saturday Ayrshire will be racing from Catterick.
However, Lanarkshire Federation plan to race from Ripon.
This sounds a bit contradictory.
It has been a very frustrating season especially for officials trying to organise pigeon races but the above information is very confusing.

How much are this years fees ? Just realised I haven’t paid them ?
Is that because you are a joiner?

Maybe they would be better addressing the cruelty of Halal slaughter.

Great stuff robert thanks just done a count thought I only need up to 10 but its 16 I need ,, ive a few that’s dud . I’ve 8 coming from another friend robert so that’s brilliant I’ll pop down later for them if that’s ok ?
No problem whatsoever Stuart. It’s very seldom I venture out during these very strange times
-
Stuart, I have 8 spare here. I was given them by our mutual friend Robert Trotter and I know he won’t mind you having them free of charge.

Guys we all have to follow the rules "from a level of personal and professional integrity".Its not the SHU it’s the Government The important thing is we stick to the rules to get us through into the next critical 2nd phase and we follow the rules to the best of our abilities. Why put our elders at risk for a !Fed Training Toss !is it not safer to train them yourself them jump them .Its nothing to do with furlough or grants if it was ,we would be racing .If we get a 2nd Spike it will be devastating and I believe for the economy the 2nd phase will be lifted within 3 weeks.I am as keen as you for racing to commence and it will but surely not to the detriment of our families.
Time and Patience
Take Care
I’m in complete agreement with this post. Should pigeon training help to spread the virus then the image of the sport will take a further downward dive.
There is no substitute for brains.

Local outdoor activities are allowed. The First Minister has advised a distance of 5 miles is considered local.

GROUP TRAINING OF RACING PIGEONS IN SCOTLAND
Group training of racing pigeons in Scotland can be carried out by members of the Scottish Homing Union provided the following minimum precautions are taken.
During the loading of the transporter the driver must remain in the cab of the vehicle and have no contact with those loading the transporter
Only two people at a time can be present to load the transporter. This can be achieved by allocating times to members thereby reducing the size of gatherings
The same two people must not be used to load the transporter
A camping type mobile toilet must be provided for the driver as there are possibly no public toilet facilities available en route
Clubs and Federations must ensure that any location that they may use as a liberation site are currently open to the public or the neccessary permission has been granted from the owner of the site
The minimum distancing and hygene steps must be taken at all times to ensure the safety of members and the public alike
Gordon Turnbull, B.E.M.
President Scottish Homing Union
Yours sincerely
Mrs Linda Brooks
Scottish Homing Union Secretary

That is an old guide and doesn’t take into account the maximum distance advice given yesterday 28th May. Yes I’m making preparations to train over the weekend and I am doing so knowing that I will be exceeding the advice of the Scottish Administration.
-
The ADVICE north of the border is to avoid travel distances of more than 5 miles. Really we still require clarification from the SHU because even routine training involves travel outside the 5 mile limit advised. Really our season now depends on how the governing body interprets this advice.
