my great uncle used to give a stale loaf to pigeons and stand in water birds used to go mad for it , heres another one barley in oven on a tray on a low heat for 2 hours the birds love it

i give my birds the odd bit of bread or buiscuits just so they get used to it in case they have to rough it for a while   at first they looked at me in disgust but now they love it   who knows what can happen to our birds on their way home such as hawk attacks or injuries ?     kev

my farher would give them burnt toast , it never did the birds harm,,,,,he reckoned the charcoal was good for their innards

Boy oh Boy   what sort of bread were you eating etc   . Thou you are correct fortunately   Charcoal (Burnt wood)   is one of the best things you can have in your medicine cabinet etc & it's also cheap.
