I wanna tell you a story !!! i once bought 6  motta van hee's ,yb's from louella just after they introduced the £99 for 6  to race. the pigeons arrived, and my heart sank !! . all six were full of lice. as you can imagine i was put off straight away, at the end of that young bird season. treated and raced alongside my own , none were left, from that day i have been very wary buying pigeons from unflown stock, generation after generation ,
i am not knocking louella as i think they do a great job in making champion bloodlines available to the working man , but , my thoughts are after a few years of inbreeding to the champions, it takes a few generations to get the "winning ability " back into the strain . the amount sold has to throw up a certain amount of winners ? , but it would be a low percentage i think ? dave

gangster. you may , or may not ? know 18 of my 24Y.B's when i restarted were from stuart (cloudview) this year. i lost one ranging (another returned wired , so i suspect this went the same way that day, one on its 2nd training chuck at 30 mile (she returned 5 week later with the biggest healed up gash you could ever imagine) racing >> has to look in the book >> lost 1, rest here to fly next year, plus 2 later breds that have had 2 chucks from 22 miles, nice medium sized distance birds that hopefully will do the same for me as cloudview, as yearlings this lot will go all the way to 500 mile !! for me

Bugger me mate, will ya stop it, I only keep a few and none come with a nice long pedigree.
Tiz a nice compliment but, I'm just trying to get re established after moving house. Thanks for your kind words gangter. My birds realy have to work bloody hard and Richard Howey's stood up better than any.

Yes---That's what he said to me several years ago (the year after he had several very good pigeons timed in Section K from Pau). I know he has others from different sources now. His introduction that year was a son of Blue Boy from Lol Green.

If you buy birds to race at £99 for 6 then pay your money and take your chance its a numbers game and there must be the odd good one!
If you pay them serious money for a suposidly well bred bird then see how keen they are on having a DNA test!!!!

Sounds like the right decision to me. I bought a pair from Richard and got third free. Raced the program and got 2 left and they were bloody young, for the first race, still got em and my older ones all went to Lamballe BBC 274 mile. I bought 2 Aardens from Louella also.
Every loft breeds rubbish, so weeding out at every stage for me, and the basket will always be the best judge.

After speaking to Steve last night - I will be putting 60 Stoker Delbars online over the next 6 weeks we are just waiting for the moult to finish to photograph them - Several of Warrens birds on Elimar at the minute were bred by Steve. If anyone wants more details about the Stoker birds coming up pm me.
