whats the best way of breading would you cross 1 family with another or would you keep the family the same

depends commercialy most want pure strains these will win , but when you cross they tend to invigourate the birds breeding better pigeons if both familys were very inbred then i would suggest a cross

i think people cross breed to try and find the best of the best thay is alot of breeds out there so i think myself some ware a breed is out there to do the job you wont it too but thats just what i think most would not agree

First decide whether you want to excel at sprint/middle or long.  Whichever it is, get two families, test them vigorously, keep the best of each, then cross them together.  You create your own family, whils injecting hybrid vigour into the originals.  Job done!

my 08 young birds were kept the same i paired my svr to svr my soontjens to my  soontjens and so on
all but i pair which i crossed all my young birds fled well but the only young bird to take a card was off the cross breads

well that tells you some think if you have the room just experiment with hafe your birds or look at people winning big races most win with crosses its what you your self wonts to do as you know every one as there own ways we can only try and do better

this coming breeding season i will try crossing my breeds i will just have to find out what is best to cross with what as i have 6 different breeds
