NAW!!!, use external ply as hardboard is porous and will retain any dampness and start to break up when you scrape it

Nothing wrong at all with hardboard as a covering for the floor, have it rough side up though. We are replacing ours this year - its been down for 10 years and is only being replaced as we are giving the loft a sprucing up - when you have laid it, coat it with a coating of wood glue mixed with water - that will do the trick. Trust me.

VIROCK sheet , comes in 8x4 , 1/4--3/8--1/2 inch thick , looks like asbestos , and  smoothe , when dropings hit it , dry in no time  if ventilation is correct , scrapeing out is a doddle , 2nd choice is maple ply as it is very hard unlike the merainti lamanate rubbish that is soft and will start to bubble after a time , scotch fir  / flooring grade ply a bit on the rough side is best coated with resin , or heavy duty smoothe vinyl , a friend has this down , a brush and mop job

Marine ply is excellent stuff, last longer if you seal it with a good varnish

We tried the granules from versa laga but Chickadee did not like them(they were to sore on her back ) so we are going to try Easybed and Stalosan
