hi can any one tell me about hopper feeding young birds and old birds and what would be the best way to go about it

i hopper feed..and it  worked for me this season. for ob i suppose the danger is that the birds get fat...excersize less...get fatter. with this in mind i feel you need 25% barley and make sure its virtually all gone before topping up. i went to 350 miles like this and lost few birds. my mentors ' tore their hair out' with my ration...but couldn't argue with results. you'll need to keep an eye on how well they excersize around loft. for yb i hopper feed a prop. yb mix as i find they fly for fun and keep themselves fit...but i don't look to be competitive at yb racing. probably some more experienced hopper feeders will post...i'll be as interested as you
