Hi All,

I have a Widowhood Hen Loft for sale. It has perches and feeding troughs inside and grills. I bought about two months ago but have decided to rather buy another big loft. It is brand new and never been used to I would like to make most of my money back. I bought is from Red Star Lofts for £500 (including delivery) so I will sell it for £400. If anybody is interested please let me know. BTW I wood treated already so that will not need to be done. Buyer will need to collect.

Kind regards

David

I think its because the buyer has to collect. Its too big for me to transport. My new loft is coming this week so I need it gone but if isn't I probably just disasemble it and store it.

I have thought of E-bay but I dont think I would get my money back from e-bay. Things usually go for bargain price on there and I would rather keep it than lose money on it.

I have found with ebay you quite often get more than you originaly paid.

You can always put a reserve on it and then it only costs you the insertation fee if it dont sell - start it at 0.99p to keep that fee down.

I used to sell alot of mobile phones on there and quite often got £20-£30 more than they were in the shops - i will prove the point if you want i am listing a phone this evening that costs maybe £29 in the shops i will start the phone at 1p and it will go for maybe £40 - thats without any pushing

Good luck, hope you find someone local as some have said it is the transport that is the problem only an extra £100 gets a new one delivered

The thing is Dovescote is that it is new, its never been used. All I have done it treat the wood, the rest of the time its just stood there as a garden ornament.

I truly appreciate that but getting it transported is the main issue, I have that with the dovecotes I make, I have always sold them locally so far, but as the carriage quotes on them ranges from £30 - £150 because they are a lot heavier than the ones in the garden centres and EBay, in the main they will always go for the easier option
I think it is well worth the £400 to someone local

I hope so too. It was an impulse buy and I will probably pay for it myself, serves me right I guess.

I looked at couriering some nest boxes today

One company would not do them and the other is looking at a fortune that is considerably lighter.

If i win it i will collect dont worry!

Anything being couriered has to be packaged or on a pallet by most companies but there are some that will deliver unusual items, loft and hut guys tend to do them on their own and in bulk, waiting till they have enough to fill a flatbed, my nest boxes came on pallets
