id not agre with taking any ring of a pigeon rubber or ets i think ets more truble than there worth wait till the cheating starts if it hasent alreaday
Without getting into a debate again about ETS - I was sitting on the fence with it and was having it, then not etc i even bought a T3S at start of season - Anyway i now have a Bricon ETS and cant believe how much better than a manual.
I will take rubbers off race birds occasionaly so the fancier knows it has been in somewhere
Would it be possible to assign the birds ETS rings in the same way the birds are vaccinate in front of two witnesses. So all birds carrying the ETS ring would have documented and signed proof that the ring was assigned by two members and not just one
I believe that this is the ruling anyway, but how will that stop people taking the rings off as I dont think they take them for their own use.
They are the lowest of the low. I,ve contemplating super glueing mine shut. If they are that desperate they need a life, or a job to pay for their own.
The sooner the better.........it's certainly the way forward for ETS.
Roundo.
When ETS was introduced I think the unions were so eager to slip it in the back door that they failed to recognise an opportunity to take some of the revenue away from the businessmen who are ruining pigeon racing. The Unions should have insisted that all ETS rings were sold through them. A combined ring would help address this issue but surely we would not be asking a non ETS fancier to pay for a chip he would not use.

Unions could offer both choices of ring and clubs could order either rings with transponders or without each member would need to state ring type required .
new response from Bricon : It is not correct to state that a lot of pigeons return without transponders from races or even training tosses. I myself never lost any in the 8 years ETS in Belgium (with a minimum of 100 pigeons each year). Also a pigeons transponder that is no longer entering races can be used again on another pigeon. With fixed transponders these benefits will disappear. Another reason is the compatibility, yes there is a compatibility between the systems. But all systems work best with their own making. This is normal, an antenna is optimized to perform as optimal as possible, other transponder brands can have other variations. BRICON is always willing to participate with improving the use of ETS, that includes some customized features for the Unions. Don’t forget that the discussion of adding the transponder to the life ring has been going on for 10 years and the conclusion is still that a separate transponder is the best option for the Fancier. Best regards,
well i guess as long as they sell more rings then its not to there benifit not to make them unremovable , i have invited Bricon to the site to view this threaD
If your so low as to take an ETS ring from any other pigeon, when it comes up for you to re-register it, the club secretary who registers and scans ours in, should notice straight away that it's been allocated before and throw it out, along with giving you a lecture of fair play. That's how it should be in an ideal world, but- - - - - - - - - - -.
people removing rings are sad , and these people of the anti ets brigade should be ashamed of there actions as unbecoming of a true sportsman , i dont have ets just yet but when im happy that all the issues around it have been solved i will gladly install one i have the power supply ready . I try to get all strays that enter my loft nearer to home be it north or south no mater how many rings are on the birds ets and alike , i believe some fanciers have even had adress rings removed before as well . These people should respect other peoples property and treat them as i do as if there were my own .
well said

In a word 'Dispicable'. Why is it done... surely some anti ET's having a childish pop. Will it stop? Will the sun circle tomorrow!
i think it will stop...but ets will have its enemies because of how it was introduced...'you reap what you sow'. people stealing them could be overcome by tel. nos printed on...perhaps? i've a stray with et ring and phone sticker and i think thats a good idea. i'm just waiting for the 'you can keep/bin the bird but i want the ring'

Just tell them you cant take the ring off but if you send £32 you can have it back

i have had that "chat" twice this year both birds were off a"first fed "mate, but were so good they were not interested in getting the birds back just the ets rings, i told them the ring stays on the bird and you can have them both back, any pigeon is worth more than a poxy ring, and to my mind if you find that idea hard you should not have birds, right or wrong i never take the rubber off a bird, sometimes if you do, and the bird gets home, the first thing the owner looks at is his/hers leg and if the rubber is off that means its been in, and they nut it

just heard on wed about people turning up with ets rings that when put over the scanner it read a gb bird and this was a shu club didnt know that you could do that does it actualy give you the bird it was regerstered too? any way its discusting ian not for ets but think its sh--- ive had 3 birds come back to me this year with the phone no rings removed no need for that either
sorry in advance guys ets is all new to me (been out the racing game for few years now) is it not possible to have this ets put on the federation/combine rings(so only 1 ring require) no doubt this as already been mentioned but looks like the way to go
