So Rugby, Southam, and Warwick clubs had a grand total of 3 members sending this week as all the rest had some form of sickness. After two weeks racing. All clubs in our fed, keep there own crates, and do not not use another clubs crates. My own birds were off there food and not flying well midweek. Cider vinegar and honey was used in the water and yogurt on the corn. I spoke to another member on saturday and he had almost identical problem, though worse than mine. Surely this "virus?" must be air born? Any ideas.
pigeons are meant to race not just sit in the pen and look at
A bit of research published in BHW a couple of years back suggested that YBs who had succumbed to YBS became carriers as OBs and passed on the condition to their offspring.
Don't know the process first hand: seems the virus 'bit' of the illness breaks down into particles which are found in the bird's main internal organs (liver, kidneys etc). Don't know how these are passed from parent (feeding? egg?) but the particles reconstitute in the youngster as live virus.
Would need to know what you mean by 'airborne' before I could comment. We've already seen in Bird Flu that it just can't happen, UV light and drying out kills it; bird in close proximity to a bird shedding virus thro droppings in basket seems much more likely.

it could be a sign they are coming down with something, my young birds were 5th club 1st race, 1st the following week and only seconds off the fed sheet as 1 member clocked 12 in 2 mins and then bottom of the club this week and found out mine have got wet canker, just keep an eye on them
