Scottish Midland Fed Lockerbie Race yesterday 8 from 8 ,three good weeks of returns
Tommy, are you speaking for yourself? Why is it your club had dropped birdage, the federation ha dropped birdage. Spoke ti fanciers today, 1 has 10/23 another 1 has 16/26 another 16/30, if that is good racing I don't know what is. P.S. I see you have only 8 away, why is this are you keeping them for the shows.
I DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS RAB BUT HE SEEMS TO BE VERY INTERESTED IN WHATS GOING ON IN THE CORRIE LOFT I WONDER IF HE SAW ME AT CARNWATH THIS MORNING TOSSING THE SHOW BIRDS
I think they have gone out on to the sea and hit heavy rain, bet they will never be seen again. I f you look at a map and draw a straight line between Alnwick and Peterhead it,s almost entirely over water. The west in the wind, the heavy rain showers and the geography was a recipe for disaster. We have to get a racepoint further inland with a line that takes out the sea.

I think there is a great deal of substance in this theory. Some birds will always go with the wind (for whatever reason). Particularly with youngsters we should be able to vary the race point dependant on the weather forecast. For example Alnwick may be perfectly acceptable if an easterly or southerly wind is forecast.
As we all know the purpose of young bird racing is education and a mild weeding out.
