Guys i e mailed AMDELIVERIES this morning regarding pigeon's and this is my reply we all moan about the poor service from amtrak and these people provide a better service and nobody hardly used it this is the reply

Hi James

I am glad that our service was noted as such but it is unfortunate that we have had to end our pigeon service as there were too few requests being made for our service so the occasional request from one part of the country to the other would end up costing us more than we were charging.

Many apologies but thanks for your enquiry

MANY THANKS
MIKE
AM DELIVERIES

So if we all want a better service than amtrak we need to get this company to see that it is worth it for them

I have used them and would have continued to do so - The biggest thing for them is to raise awareness in the services they offer pigeon fanciers - I dare say many people will look at this thread and wonder who the hell they are.

AM deliveries is also a member of the forum, heres the thread that was advertising them http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1214428431/s-0/#num0

Maybe if people are interested about this service they should email the company to log their support and maybe the forum members can help them

It was posted on the 20th of July, hardly enough time to see if they had any real customers or compete with Amtrak

Well I don't know what their advertising was like, but it could have been a matter of not many people seeing their post on here and with everyone using Amtrak however bad they are, the new company or any new pigeon courier company really needs to do lots of advertising to show whys its better than Amtrak, hopefully AM deliveries will keep going and maybe they'll be at Blackpool

yes i am and also pigeonglobe have offered them advertising on there so we will wait and see what happens

Does anybody know if the RPRA fund amtrak in anyway or have a contract with them as it maybe possible with the backing of the RPRA that this courier service will be good for us pigeon people

also these people if willing to give it a try again could help us when and if the stray centre gets up and running throughout the country

As far as i am aware Louella get a cheaper rate with Amtrack due to quantity of birds they send

it would depend on whether or not Amtrack and louella had a contract in place for a fixed period of time or not ?

not sure what weeks they were mike said throughout may. I have done this of my own back and have no involvement with any person's at AMdeliveries i keep hearing stories about amtrak and remembered looking at a post about this service and got in contact with them as i will need to use the service in the future and was told that they no longer do the pigeon service to which i have responded by trying to help get us as a fancy a better service than the one currently available from amtrak

before you put it up we need to get them to start the service back up again

I only remember seeing 1 small advert in the BHW. This has only been up and running for a very short time.
A lot more promotion needs to be done, inthe press, sponsorship etc etc to get the name out there.
Peter Bryant / RPRA did promote Phantom Flyer when he was going nationwide but who knows what happened to that!
It maybe worth contacting RPRA.

It would be better if they could strike some kind of franchise with Amtrak for the transport of pigeons.

the problem people have is poor service from amtrak or so i thought so it would make no sense to do that as amtrak would still handle the birds and there for there would be a chance of horror

well heres a suggestion if AMdeliverys posted a topic with a poster on then everyone on site could print one then put it up in there club house or print one per member and hand them out, if amdeliverys have give up now they be sorry as it's nearly silly season in the B.H.W  everyone will be selling birds at the end of the season , and everyone will be buying birds and 90% will want delivering

like we said DovesCot... not enough money in it to squabble over.
Say what you like ... must protect my shares .... Amtrax do a bloody good job considering the Millions of birds they must  have fetch and carried for the fancier on the past few years.
Yes let the knocker knock... But the old adage of 'You can do without Tom, Dick, or Harry ... but how much better can we be with them.
instead of bleating, whinging and moaning nonstop at every chance... try having a favourable word with the driver... works wonder and cost nowt ... they never have time for a cuppa so the pocket you still save a little... and every little helps at Amtrax prices lol

i think with anthrax its down to the depot and driver[s] i am lucky [now] they have moved the depot to luton[i think] and the driver we have now is bloody good [which means he will not last] my main problem with them is not all depots and drivers are that good at all, i have had amtrak go to pick birds for me with no boxes, they have lost birds, crushed boxes and sent them to the wrong end of the country, when i saw the ad for am i thought thank god for that, any serious threat to amtrak will be good and make them pull their socks up a bit,but why give up this time of the year, with a bit more publicty they will get more work than they can cope with

Amtrax don't need too much creaing off there profits... not a case where there is plenty of loot to be made. Still you all know this... just hope on a whim and a prayer for a mirical. No one ever posts ... outside of me ... just what will happen when Amtrax pull the plug. This I fear won't be long now... Then of course in reality, any competitor will have a free hand... But that's never going to happen, besides I feel that Amtrax will soon have to increase prices a bit more with the cost of fuel being what it is....
No need to report stray at all then so many will be happier. then again the Bigger Stud / feather sellers will arrange area deliveries, so just a little extra cost. The rest of us will have to get the tandam's out and make sure the misis is at the front - so she won't notice you're not peddling.
2years -3 years tops... then of course another 20%, 30% or more will pack up ... and more costs. Yet no one has bothered looking, for that magic wand.
