that forum must be used to make cash i have the same type of forum its £60 a year to run

I think my site cost maybe £100 to set up but i got all the time for web design for free so it makes it easier.

Any donations we get on my site are at the minute put into an advertising fund.

From what i gather donations from members on here go into a fund to help fanciers in need (correct if wrong)

Either way i am happy to donate whether i sell or not and will be doing again this year at Blackpool

yes but there are a good lot of new comers come on here too and to the them when they see fancy ads fancy pictures it gets them and this site is perfect for the young ppl coming on to the site and newcomers to the sport

There are plenty "old hands" like yourself to keep them right if they would just take a breath and reveiw the situation. I raced the birds when I was a teen back in the early seventy's. I have come back to the birds ( not racing) I wish! Now I seem to think I am a complete novice as regards present day birds and the money involved. Don't get me wrong there were Belgian birds, mob flyers, awkward B@*tards, money men, couldn't give a F@ck about the birds men and the like ( people don't change do they ) but I really remember the good caring guys prob like yourself who keep the sport alive so it's up to them to keep the novice on track and free from the vultures who invade all our pastimes.

i think its down to the site admin/mods ,if it aint broke, dont try and fix it , the idea of a forum is to encourage new members etc, same as in the ''sport'' , reading threads like this is enough to put any noob off imo , i have given deets to a couple of members to get birds, dont matter who but its the same thing..you might be in the same boat one day ...shame these threads get started....

ps,i have a unrelated forum i pay for myself and hosting etc only costs £3:99 per month,so its not the money is it ...

i can see were j/a/m is coming from as i thought all donations go into the basics fund that helps good causes so a fair donation is a good thing abviously in chris s case donations 2 cancer another good thing....and i know the majority of lads here selling a few do donate its the fly by nights that just join n sell n are gone that are the problem....

its up to the moderators to sort out if they think someones taking the p*ss then they can sort it but people do need to buy birds from time to time so why not buy from people you can trust or where you can get a reference.......just like you can on this site
