Is that the purple stuff they used to call Condy's Crystals? Haven't seen or heard of that in years!

parents and grandparents used to make up a gallon of solution from crystals and then dilute it in the drinkers. The birds wattles always gleamed white, never any respiritory etc either.

Exactly Phil, thats what i remember the old guys doing, making gallon bottles of this at a time! Its a shame but a lot of the old fashioned products / remedies like this seemed to have slipped by the wayside!

Used it for years in bath water never had any problems only need very small amount though you can also use it for fish to control bacterial parasitic and fungal problems

Not sure if it will do that i used it years ago when fish had fungus was the old fashion remedy and its lot cheaper than anything you can buy now to do it have look at this give you bit more info on it for fish http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/fa027  If you find anything good for algi let us know i spent fortune trying things in my ponds and none of them seem to work for long

Didnt know that pdordin i tell my daughter to try that one

Hi, Get some barley straw and tie a bundle as much as your hand can hold. put a weight on to sink it. In a couple of weeks your water will be crystal clear. Better still if you have a filter with a decent size container just pop the bundle in there.

pamamginate of potash is great for anyone who has athlete feet where all the toes get sweaty and infected and skin coming off but dont put too much in the basin just a small pinch as to much turns your feet brown for weeks, just steep your feet in warm water till it goes cold, twice a day and you will heal your feet in no time.
