used it years ago when we kept chickens , i used too garden with an old lad he always use the old stuff like epson on the pigeons & hens , they always look well
thanks mate i know some of the old fanciers used to use it on there birds after a race to give them a clean out but was,nt sure of the amount to give
not meaning to be cheeky tyson but try doing an hours workout and then come home and drink a glass of epsom salts youself and see if it does you any good .then you can give your pigeons some after you have found out the results .
dr colin walker advises against these type of salts, wouldnt be my cuppa tea, but i am of the understanding that if ye give these salts it flushes the bird out(anything they may have picked up in the basket) then they need to be re-hyrated as soon as possible, not 100% sure this is just my understanding
have read somewhere myself that birds dont need more salts after a race as their salt levels are already too high and only need clean water? there seems to be a lot of disagreement on this matter what do u all think? debbie

I am not sure whether the birds benefit from the salt or not but Epsom salts are Magnesium Sulphate. As far as I am aware Magnesium can be beneficial in muscle formation.
