The NW Combine are at Messac, the replacement Nantes site, some forty odd miles shorter for me, than Nantes. This is now approaching pigeon racing at its best.   I only hope that the Combine will never buckle in to some of the sprinters that want comeback racing. I have eight, all right weight, not past their sell by date. Just can't wait, Won't  be late. But everything's down to fate! Ain't it mate!  lol.

An old mate of mine, from years gone by, GOD BLESS HIM! Won  the section (Northern, I think) twice, flying into Liverpool from well over 800 miles. He was a fellow plumber, who was respected by all. His name was Mick Mullarkey. Sometimes I get the impression, that he is behind me, on the pc, when distance racing comes up.  A really great guy!  Another great distance  guy was the alderman Tom Burton from Liverpool, who when we were kids of 15 years old, would phone him from a near by telephone kiosk out side my house, enquring about early times in some gruelling channel races. And he never once, failed to respond. Different game in them days.

Glad I,m not the only one that remembers the super guys from the past. This guy should have received some sort of honour, for the way he supported  many charities. But who are pigeon flyers? with the sh** publicity we all get. Annoying to say the least!

I was only credited with third club, last week, not even second! But won  100% pools, which pays for the birds this week. Just to keep the record straight.

Lennut, If you are a retired OZ plumber, You must have amassed more Brass than Sandhurst ever did. When I was down there, visiting my brother, I was told that the OZ plumbers were better paid than doctors.  I can only train my birds locally on a "Chopper" bike. Whereas, I've heard you train your birds, on a "proper chopper". Keep above the flying doctors though! LOL.
