Hi I do exactly the same as you hoever I put about an inch of the garlic mix into the drinker and then top up with fresh water, I assume my mix would be 12 or 15 fresh water to one part Garlic Mix.

My methods is to place cloves/sliced/in the net immerse in water carrier, and top up each evening, leaving it stand overnight, tastecontent of garlic grows stronger on a daily basis, its an accquired taste then, which they wont have any bother with, leave cloves in for a fortnight, and then change.

I hven't got time for all that stuff.  I like to keep things simple.  I chuck a couple of sliced up cloves in the drinker once a week.  Never had a problem with them drinking the water.  It's just a cse of them getting used to the taste.

The major point about using garlic is that it is not to be heat treated in any way - you destroy one of the most important active ingredients, allicin, if you do that. ALSO you don't get allicin until you bruise the bulb / clove in some way (crush, cut etc) placing a clove or a bulb in water just rots the plant, nothing more.

I give it freshly peeled and crushed into the drinker, a 20/30g bulb to 2 litres of water. I will sometimes leave it for one overnight, but it is reckoned that allicin is fully broken down to its other 'less powerful' forms within the first day, so if you are bottling it up for days at a time, maybe not getting the best from it.

We crush the cloves and add to 6 litre container of cold water, leave over night and then we sieve it into a jug and add to drinkers, we then put the fibre that is left into the bath
