whats  pigeon health like for testing droppings on pigeons,has any member used them if so what do you think of the service

sent test kit away monday and had a phone call tuesday morning with results, first time i have used them so no complaints here.

what did your results come back as mate...bactiral infection or yeast problem???????????????????? which one mate?????

not being funny or oat to you mate but delt with them for a couple of years and so did 3 of my mates and every time the same thing.. as soon as we sent them to a different lab ...bang..tottaley some thing different ..all of us...

best i've used is Lizy Rigby!

was thinking the same mate

i have used them and i had results  back as ...bactiral infection and   hight yeast

were else could i send send for testing

Me too, said they had chlamydia / yeast and fungus. Have treated as recomended and birds look fine. ( but come to think of it they did before the test ! )

one of the best for tests is kevin winter he keeps the up north lot going, he lives in sunderland i use him and i live in wales ATB les

it takes at least 2 days to test for a bactiral infection. i have used pigeon health and found he doesn't know what he is talking about. i use retford poultry now. they are spot on.

i used them 3 years ago said it was fungus gave me 5 bottles of stuff for frush

John Waters on here is fine too.

theres a lot of cons about now,its too easy to advertise now with the proplems us pigeon men get,theres always someone out there watching just to make a fast buck.

Well Les !!!!!!!!!   I'm in total shock here   how could you ever say such a thing. Still   , my local resident guru (Pigeon vet) in his wisdom here, has decided to do the sport a favour ??????????? as he is not racing in the near future. So he is offering to breed off certain of his stock pigeons, for $400 each. Just another fine example, of how etc   one flyer wishes to help another flyer who may be in need   .

I have used them in the past and never came back with any problems - although I never expected them too as they we just routine tests.........

ive used pigeon health twice to have droppings/swab tested  the 1st test came back as a bacterial infection but when i asked him if he could be more specific he seemed unsure of what to say,i asked if it was ornithosis and he agreed for treatment he sent me protril powder and multi vits which i have to say did the trick as the birds were back to flying for 1hr within the week the 2nd test approx 6 months later came back showing low levels of canker and cocci   i treated the canker with chevicol (i had some in cupboard) and the cocci with coxedex which pigeon health sent to me  on both occasions they,ve phoned the test results through to me within 3 days of posting which i thought was good  i got the impression that he was very busy and just wanted to move on to his next call and with tests at £12.50 a pop i expect he,s very busy  at the end of the day i suppose you get what you pay for  even though lizzy rigsby is more expensive ive heard that she,s very good and worth every penny so i will try her next time i have my birds tested   debbie

Have also used Kevin , 1st class service sent off samples yesterday and he was on the phone at lunch time today . And samples are clear

When collecting samples should the sample be from only 1 pigeon or do you just fill the sample pot from the loft? Im also using deep litter, so its hard to find uncontaminated samples as they contain easibed is it ok to put the easibed into the pot or should i clean a box out and put a few birds in to get a clean uncontaminated sample?

scrape out in morning feed then collect from perches / boxes collecting the less firmer specimens then mix to a paste then fill container to level indicated , dropping dont give a full test of a birds health and should be done with a micro bacteria culture via swab

i have just started back up again partners with me dad i noticed this year me dads widowers where like strugling 2 swollow and kept opening ther mouths could any one help and tell me what the problems are i thought it was canker which then he treated but they still done it

get them tested could be micro baterial or even something simple like thrush

nice 1 mate treated them with nystan on the corn but still never worked thinking more like micro plazmosis first time on thr chat line excellent idea

Had my test results back from Versa Laga today, it seems that they only tested for cocci, Salmonella and 3 types of worms, is this the only things possible to test for from the droppings or do other testers give a more in depth analysis?

you'd need to do a throat swab Josh to grow bacteria and stuff

my vets is Defra approved and they actualy know about pigeons

pass i always sign cheque and hand over for our lass to fill in i will be off shortly for a full test prior to pairing but there not as expensive as some make out id rather spend my money on tests than medicines that dont work , but you need to book an appointment in advance , you used to be able just to turn up a few years ago .

Have used NORTHERN HYGIENE LABORATORIES LTD for 6 years now (like OldFellow) and have always found them first class.
