Its Citronella [and Eucalyptus, I think] which 'clear the tubes' as well as clear insects. It's OK for the birds to be in there with it, but my advice is steer clear of it yourself - had a real bad chest myself for a couple of days after being in the loft with it.. also used it in the house loft last year to clear a wasps nest, same advice, light it and run.
oh thats just bleeding great, i got it for a lice problem [had straw down when they were first weaned]some of the birds are stamping and preening a bit too much [if you get what i mean]any ideas about getting rid of lice without having to spray each bird?
