For the more experienced birds it will be appleby first race 3rd may 95 miles, most of the yearlings will start this sat at lowther castle 89 miles althought i would have rather started them at appleby as well. last race before channel races up to 560 miles will be cheltenham.

Depending on the weather on the day, 6 to 8 hrs etc & that  = a 250 to 350 miles race & then 3 to 4 weeks rest, then into the 500 mile race, & if they are any good ??????? they should be knocking on the door or there abouts, in my view.
Enjoy.

I think if you have a hard maidston your up against it,would rather have a hard 250 miles four weeks before big race, but thats just my opinion.

Bit further than i would have gone if it is only 2 weeks before I think they really need a race about 2 weeks before but it is one time that you really want a decent race last thing you need is a bad race getting the right distance wise race those couple of weeks before isnt always the easiest of things to find you just got hope it works out a nice steady race for them
