Anthoney I put red and black minerals ogeather all the time and I havent had any problems

I use a small plastic tray (the ones that you sit plant pots on) its about 2' long x 6''wide x 1/2 inch deep, black minerals go one end, pink the other & grit in the middle. I put this in front of the pigeons every day, take it out when they've cleared it, give it a whipe ready for the following day.
