The down side of Creatine is that it causes cramps and thirst, it is good for athletes that have a ready supply of water, but fatal for pigeons that must do the journey without any liquids on the way. said by Jack Barkel.

From what I read L-Carnatine is a good supplement that they normally would get from worms and insects that they would eat in the wild.  Its not in the grains we feed.  Anyway this is what I read what are everyones thoughts?

Ive used it myself when out running and biking and I used it a few years back whn I did a 90mile bike ride and I feel it helped me then. But you would have to give it too the bird on the day of Liberation for it to work and that is obviously not possible, so would forget about giving it to the birds.

i use to bodybuild a few years ago and used creatine, many brands aswell, the cheap stuff will realy give them a pump but it does make your muscles cramp up very quick as all creatine pumps water into the muscles,so not very good for pigeons . mind you no other pigeon will mess about with them in the basket as they will be solid.ha ha................ my view speight keep it away from your pigeons, plus to get 99% out of creatine you need to spike it with cranberry juice as it travels better into the muscles and would be best put on corn, putting it in the drinker will only pass straight through them in the urine-droppings.

Creatine is an amino acid manufactured by the body. As mac1 says, used as a supplement by some sportspeople ... to build muscle mass.
