Here is what I do.  I have some synthetic bamboo shades the kind that roll up and  you sometimes see on patios to keep the sun out. Any way I have them on all of the windows of the loft and I roll them down whenever there is rain or heavy fog.  I hung them about 3-4 inches away from the window so that it doesnt rest up against the window and allow for ventilation but keeps the weather out..  The bamboo shades themselves allow for air to pass through them but they are tight nit enough to prevent the rain and reduces the fog.  Any way this seems to work for me the loft is dry during the rain and fog, humidity however will still account for some moisture in the loft.  Hope this helps.

I would thinkyou need to increase the air flow through the loft with cold air coming at the floor level and the warmer air going out the highest pointm My vents at the front of each section are 48 ins long 24 ins high there is a 4 inch gap runs along the top of the rear wall and I have ventilated ridge tiles in the ceiling the loft is always dry even in foggy weather

Wondered if there is water running / dripping in when the wind is blowing from behind the loft - rain running down the back of the overhang?

Also, in pictures of this design of loft, I haven't seen front or side bottom louvre ventilators? Would improve air-flow and reduce humidity.

when we lived in Washington State we were plagued with dampness and the loft had to be cleaned out twice a day.

The other posters are quite right about ventilation, if you go to our starter loft on our web page you will see the sort of ventilation we use to keep our loft dry.  During the winter months we covered the floors of the loft with wood stove pellets which are very inexpensive and keep the moisture down to a minimum.  The droppings dry as soon as they hit the pelletsand the clumps can be taken out once a week with a garden rake.  One covering of pellets lasted us throughout the winter.

The Birds actually liked them, in the flying loft, the birds built their nests on the pellets instead of the nest boxes.

Hope this helps
