just a wee situation i have, and was wondering what you would do?
i have 2 pairs of putmans
2 cocks kirkpatrick
2 pairs of janssens
5 late bred logans
1 late bred janssen
i wanted to breed the kirkpatricks this season, as these birds are good birds for breeding.
would i be able to pair up the kirkpatrick cocks with the putman hens, after they have reared their first youngsters?
any advice or tips, appreciated.
thanks

Hi Snowy,
You don`t want to play about to much if they are going to race, but if in the stockloft, just seperate for a while, and the putmans and kirkpatricks will pair up,thou you can get a stubborn bird sometimes, but they bend with gentleness.
Why don`t you pair the 2 pairs of jansenns up same time as the kirks, and give them the 1st round of eggs of the kirks, then the kirks rear the next round, then foster again under the janseens.
At least you got afamily type to race, thenbreed some latebreds of putman, kirks, letting the janseens foster....
