ENERGY OIL
Twice the Calorific value of Glucose/Carbohydrates due to having a mixture of coconut and palm kernel oils that have been extra refined and purified.

It is a clear oily fat with little odour or taste and fortified with vitamin E to ensure maximum anti-oxidant effects.

This unique mixture of fatty acids ensures quick metabolism (used efficiently by the body of the bird),which means there is a reduced amount of fat deposited and it has a calorific value of 8Kcal/ compared to glucose/carbohydrates which have 4Kcal/g.

Energy Oil also has different absorption and metabolism properties so as not to interfere with glucose/carbohydrate or other fat metabolisms, unlike other fats and Oils.

Gem Energy Oil is more readily digested, absorbed and metabolised and is instantly available for the bird when there is a need for large amounts of energy during racing, breeding and recuperation.

Simply mix 3ml per kg of corn 3 times per week.

Has anybody use this product, and how was your pigeons from the race?

Hi Speight, Did I read your article correcly, that the energy oil is available from "GEM" supplements?
I take it that your racers did well using Energy oil?

take care,

Was swayed by 7-in-one oilimix (vanhee product) when I restarted, to put the birds through the moult. Also tried it when racing. Stopped during second season, Spring 2004, reckoned oil was 'suspect' (purchased this bottle in Autumn 2003).

Watched one of those 'how is it made' progs on TV yesterday, sunflower etc oils, and realise now suspicions were right - I had't stored it properly, although I'd kept it in a dark cool cupboard as per label, but these instructions were poor. From TV: Oil deteriorates in sunlight, hence the dark glass or plastic bottle;  and once the bottle is opened, it starts oxidizing on contact with air.  It should also be kept refrigerated.

But I still don't know about a 'use by' date... i.e. after you open it.

The other thing I picked up (too late) from Steven van Breemen's Winning magazine, that if fed something like 28 consecutive days, it supposedly damaged the birds liver. I'd already been feeding 33 days!!!!

And won't even start on Omega3, 6 & 9!!!

I used Energy oil from Gem on my GYA Team racers this year, they did well for me but i must say Winning Combation from Mark Evans and Kaucabam is the good stuff, we tested both on my two young birds lofts, one darkness and one natural this year,
