We Give Peanuts to our birds all year round, But only the one's from the health food shop, for humans
We only give the yb's a small amount crushed as a treat when returning from training tosses, and races

Here ya go then Speight! I give each bird two peanuts per day - not health shop or red skins, just bird peanuts and they seem fine. Maybe I'll have a rethink when I've finished the huge bag I bought. |

Hi Peckedhen
The reason for using peanuts that are for humans is because the ones for wild birds are treated with chemicals, that over a long time can have an effect on the pigeons,
This is what we have been told, and everyone in our area say the same thing. hope it is true and not because they all have shares in the local health food shop.

i liked to give them peanuts preparing them for distance races, whilst moulting or whilst feeding young, other wise i would go easy on them, and just use a few broken down as a tit bit,as they are very fattening,,,,,,but they love them, |

I aslo gives "peanuts" red skins from the health shop.i give my birds, them all the time, but its only as a treat . I start as soon as the youngsters, are feeding themselfs.Ok thay might not be able to pick, them up,but because the parents are feed them, thay soon get the bond I also think that it helps to tame the youngsters & oldens.Speckled. |

There were peanuts in a racing mix I tried this year, not many mind. Try a couple in your trapping seed; mine never trapped so well |
