AFTER READING THE ABOVE THE OLD SAYING SPRINGS TO MIND THAT "CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME"AND IT GOT ME THINKING AS TO WHAT WE COULD DO TO GET SOME FUNDS IN TO HELP THE WEBSITE AS WELL AS PEOPLE MAKING DONATIONS IF THEY WISH WHAT ABOUT HAVING A YOUNG BIRD EXCHANGE AS WE DO IN OUR CLUB.THE  PEOPLE WHO WISH TO PARTISIPATE WOULD PAY A FEE THEN THE NAMES WOULD BE DRAWN OUT AND WHO EVER YOU WERE DRAWN WITH YOU EACH BREED ONE ANOTHER A YOUNGSTER, THE FEES COULD THEN BE DIVIDED SAY 40%TO FUNDS 30% TO THE BREEDER AND 30% TO THE RACER OF THE YOUNG BIRD THAT HAD THE BEST PERFORMANCES IN 2006,OR ANOTHER IDEA WOULD BE TO HAVE A YOUNGBIRD
SALE ON HERE AND SPLIT THE MONEY IN A SIMULAR WAY.WHAT ARE OTHER FORUM MEMBERS VIEWS AS I REALLY THINK WE ALL SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO HELP WITH THE WEBSITE COSTS.

i think this is a great idea, would help the website & create a bit of interest & competition between forum members, but as usual pigeon-man it needs someone to get off their bum & organise it.i would certainly participate.
it might be better to post something on the general board where it will be more easily viewed, asking for names of members who would wish to participate, then with the response you would know whether it would be worth doing it or not.

I've had an idea for something similar for a couple of months now, didn't implement it this year due to a lack of time, but watch this space for next year I particularly like the yb swap bit pigeon_man, didnt have that in my notes

Count me in, as I think it would create more harmony and also a bit spirited competition amongst ourselves and help the Forum at the same time

I think this is only fair and fanciers who promote the sales of studs through these pages should make a donation the same other wise they are getting free advertising the studs can well afford it the prices they charge.

I Have donated 1 young bird for the auction, i have also put over £20 in to pigeon basics funds this year with advertising etc to help keep the site going.

please note that any one wishing to advertise a lot on pigeon basics should make some sort of donation towards the pigoen basics funds.

the site takes a lot of running and some dont reialise how much work richard puts in to the site.

AS THE LAST POST WAS UNABLE TO FULLFILL, DUE TO MICKIE,B,S UNTIMELY PASSING AWAY, AND THROUGH THE FEW MEMBERS THAT HELPED WE HAD THE PRIVILAGE TO GIVE HIS WIFE 235 POUNDS, AND WE NOW HAVE A BEAUTIFULL TROPHIE FOR A NOVICE,FOR YEARS TO COME, IT WOULD BE NICE FORANY MEMBER TO DONATE [HOWEVER LITTLE] TO PIGEON BASICS WHO MADE THIS ALL POSSIBLE

I think whether you sell them on Basics or not you should pay.    If you advertise in the local paper or on EBay you don't get it for free do ya?  HUh???
