Have you tried using an ETS system mate by the sounds of it it cures everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a serious note Ben their is nothing more dishearting than seeing a good team of young birds going down with the dreaded "sickness" especially when the racing has just started. No feeding AT ALL for 24 hours but electrolytes in the water. Then "small stuff" and keep the electrolytes going as well. If things don't look like they are improving at all then the "secondaries" like e-coli need sorting and that is where the "cocktail" medicines like Nifuramycin come in they blast everything.

You will lose some but after 5 days give a decent multi-vit and try and build them up again.

Sorry to say your racing season is probably over. Good luck Ben!

Heya mate i just cured mine of it .I put a hopper full of depuritive in the loft and left it there topping up when needed till they was over it.Fresh water daily and keep the loft super clean.Keep the birds in the loft till all symptoms are gone.Timbarra(Spencer) told me how to get over mine and all thanks to him.Like he stated its a viral infection you need to let all the birds get over it in there own time.just like a cold will spread from one family member to the other so will this pass through the loft.
The reason behind the hopper feeding 24 hours a day is so the birds dont gorge themselve's and just eat a little when needed.
I think mine was caught just in time and am training and racing again.

John Halstead recommends no food for 24 hours until they have empied their crops remove all spew from cree. Then Nyistan in the water for 24 hours then live yoghurt for another 24 hours. They can have food after they have empied their crops but it must be light i.e seed or a depurative.

Some people recommend bilcos YBS

hi

I treat mine youngs with:

a. Paramixture injection 4 weeks old
b. ring them.
c. canker tablet
d. cocoxi tablet
e. worming tablet

drinking water 7 in 1

but the parent birds get:

a. canker tablet
b. cocoxi tablet
c. worming tablet

and the drinking water 7 in 1

This year so far I had to treat mine with additional medication for the drop wing/para legs etc?

i hope this helps

nifuramycin seems to do the trick, but i have had great success with a medication called baflox, this is the real deal, cant seem to get anymore though!.........remember,dont have any minerals or grit in with the birds when using medication!,as these can weaken the treatments power...paul

for yb sickness,
keep youngsters in the loft for 10-14 days
give nothing but plain water
feed in hoppers , light diet or depurative all day.

your youngsters should be over it in 10-14 days........ its that simple.

or you can give them everything that is advised and make situation worse.. its your choice.
